FALMOUTH (WGME) -- The Falmouth Country Club will be holding a special 2-day golf event beginning on Monday, July 24.

The 36-hole tournament features both amputee and able-bodied golfers.

Maine Adaptive and the Amputee Association of Maine will be providing a free clinic on Sunday, July 23 for golfers with any type of disability. Former PGA star Ken Green, who lost his leg in a horrific accident back in 2009, will be competing as well. Officials are expecting between 50 and 60 golfers.

And the hope is this first ever event will help spread awareness that amputees in Maine are not alone.
