FORESTVILLE, MD (WGME) -- A Maryland man shot and injured two police officers, and officials say he won’t be charged.
The police chief says the officers went to the wrong apartment Wednesday night and went in with a search warrant after knocking.
The officers were trying to find out information on a drug dealer, and were given a wrong address by an informant.
"I believe he fired that weapon, because he believes he was defending himself and his daughter,” Chief Hank Stawinski, with the Prince Georges County Police Department, said.
The Prince Georges County Police Department is working on a new set of standardized practices to ensure that the mix-up will never happen again.
