What Mainers can expect Thursday as the nor'easter continues to hit Maine

Snow Map (WGME)

STATEWIDE (WGME) -- Snow fall rates will be one to two inches per hour through early Thursday morning.

The snow will taper to snow showers late morning and early afternoon Thursday.

The heaviest snow will be through 9 a.m.

Expect improving road conditions during afternoon and evening.

While intermittent snow is possible through the late day hours, little to no additional accumulations are expected.

Most of the state will pick up 10-16 inches of snow.

Winds will stay strong out of the north Thursday morning.

Expect gusts 30 to 30 40 MPH.

A wind shift northwest is expected Thursday with gusts over 30 MPH.

It's March and snow, especially during the day, should be more pasty.

Heavy wet snow plus strong gusty winds will result in a high probability of power outages.

Friday will showcase cloudy skies with highs around 40.

We're still keeping an eye on the track of yet another powerful storm Monday into Tuesday.

Based on Thursday's forecast, it's track looks too far south for a significant impact here in Maine but needs to be watched. Stay tuned.
