ROXBURY (WGME) -- Maine Game Wardens are identifying a man killed in a snowmobile crash in Oxford County as 47-year-old Gregory Simmons from Andover.

Corporal John MacDonald says it appears Simmons lost control of his snowmobile on Interconnecting Trail System 84 and was thrown from the machine. Another person on a snowmobile came upon the scene and reported the crash around 9 p.m.

Wardens say they think Simmons had been at a local restaurant for dinner and was riding home when the crash took place. They say speed appears to be a contributing factor.

MacDonald says this is the second deadly snowmobile crash in Maine this season.
