US Court of Appeals denies Rep. Poliquin's injunction request

BOSTON (WGME) -- The United States Court of Appeals has denied Congressman Bruce Poliquin's motion for an injunction to prevent Jared Golden from being declared the winner in Maine's Second District.
The court issued a brief, one-page ruling Friday afternoon.
Plaintiffs-Appellants' Emergency Motion for Injunction Pending Appeal does not show movant to have a strong likelihood of success on the merits and is denied.
Poliquin has also filed an appeal, hoping for the court to rule ranked choice voting unconstitutional.
"Judge Walker's ruling against Bruce Poliquin was crystal clear, and today, three appellate judges concluded that he is unlikely to win his appeal. Congressman-elect Golden looks forward to taking his seat on January 3, and he's eager to get to work representing the people of Maine's 2nd District," Jared Golden's campaign manager Jon Breed said.
