Two serious injured in early morning Portland crash

A Westbrook man and a Portland woman were seriously injured in an early morning crash on Congress Street in Portland.

PORTLAND (WGME) -- Two people suffered "significant" injuries after their car crash in Portland early Sunday morning.

Police said the accident happened just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday at 2039 Congress St.

The driver, a 23-year-old Westbrook man, and the passenger, a 35-year-old Portland woman, were both hospitalized after the car left the road and collided with a stone wall.

Police have not released the names of the victims.
