Teen driver seriously injured after running stop sign in Baldwin, deputies say
BALDWIN (WGME) -- The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says a 16-year-old girl was seriously injured after she was struck by a truck Wednesday night.
The crash happened on Route 113 at the intersection of Depot Road around 8:20 p.m.
Deputies say the Parsonsfield teen ran a stop sign at the end of Depot Road and was hit by a truck, driven by 60-year-old Raymond McKenney, of Westbrook.
The girl suffered serious but non-life-threatening head injuries.
McKenney suffered only minor injuries.
Deputies say the teen may have been distracted by an “electronic device.”
The crash remains under investigation.
