BIDDEFORD (WGME) -- As the temperatures drop, students are making a difference in Biddeford, for those in need.

Students took hats, scarves and mittens donated by the St. James Catholic School community, put them in plastic bags and put them up in the park for anyone in need.

The park is located at the corner of South and Green Streets in Biddeford and bags are hung from fences and park benches.

The school says this is all a part of their "Casual for a Cause" initiative. The catholic school students are allowed to wear casual clothes rather than their uniforms if they donate to charity.

Each donation bag contains a note from St. James students.

Any items that are still left behind will be donated to the "Seeds of Hope Neighborhood Center."
