Severely disabled Bridgton woman will start getting vital benefits
BRIDGTON (WGME) – A severely disabled woman in Bridgton will soon get the benefits she needs.
18-year-old Raegan Storck requires around the clock care due to a brain malformation.
Now that she's an adult, she's eligible for "shared living" benefits, which allows her mom to get a small stipend for providing some of her care.
Just hours before it was to start, the family was told it conflicted with her current nursing care.
After filing a grievance, the state now says it was a misunderstanding and Raegan is eligible for both benefits that her mom says are crucial to her survival.
