NAPLES (WGME) -- A small plane made a crash landing on the water in Naples Sunday. The cause is under investigation.

The crash happened around 3 p.m. near the Moose Landing Marina on Brandy Pond.

Investigators says hundreds of people were on the water when the small plane made a hard landing, but no one was hurt, including the pilot and passenger. They both walked away without a scratch.

Witnesses say the plane was very close to hitting the boats.

"We heard something and I looked and saw the plane coming down from a weird angle at a weird direction and happened to look out there was another boat right in front of it trying to get out of its way, not quite sure what happened,” Mike Frank, witness, said.

The plane was removed from the water Monday. Investigators are continuing their work to figure out why the plane crashed.
