STRATHAM, NNH (WGME) -- Officials in New Hampshire are asking for your help to care for dogs in need.
The Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is looking for help to care for three-dozen German Shepherds that are in protective custody at the shelter.
Earlier this year, nine German Shepherd puppies were brought to the shelter-after they rescued from severe neglect.
Shortly after, 22-more dogs were rescued from the same owner who was holding the dogs in the loft of a barn.
In February, one of the dogs had puppies, bringing the total number of German Shepherds at the shelter to 36.
Officials say supporting these dogs, in addition to other animals in the shelter, has been a huge financial strain for the organization.
