Man killed in Lewiston brawl laid to rest
LEWISTON (WGME) -- The Lewiston man who died from injuries he received during a brawl at Kenned Park was laid to rest Friday.
Donald Giusti's funeral was held at the Salvation Army in Lewiston Friday morning. Family and friends came together to celebrate his life.
Dozens gathered at the park on Thursday to pay their respects to the father of four by hosting a barbecue and releasing balloons in his memory.
While many are still searching for answers and justice, Giusti's family say it's time to put the pain aside and honor Donnie.
“Some family say you pull apart, well this one never pulls apart. We unite together as one. And I just thank God for that. I thank God that we've had an opportunity to spend a short time with Donnie. I love him and I think forgiveness, it's to forgive all that's happened,” Ken Thompson, Giusti's uncle, said.
Since the brawl, Lewiston officials have put in place a 10 p.m. curfew for Kennedy Park and have increased security.
Giusti's death is still under investigation.
