LEWISTON (Sun Journal) -- A young man was seriously injured very early Friday morning on Knox Street, according to the Sun Journal.

Police responded to an area in front of 94 Knox St. where a man was laying on his back in the street, unresponsive, with an apparent head injury.

The incident was reported around 1 a.m.

The injured man was transported to Central Maine Medical Center.

At the time, police could be seen talking to people through an open window on the second floor of the apartment building at that address, according to the Sun Journal.

According to Lewiston Lt. David St. Pierre, the incident is under investigation and very little information was available early Friday. “At this point it is unclear what led to or how the male was injured,” he said, but the man’s injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
