PORTLAND (WGME) – Tuesday night the Maine Restaurant Association honored some of the best in the industry.
Chef and restaurant of the year were named at a banquet in Portland.
It was a big night for food lovers all across the state.
Besides the awards, there was a beautiful 3-course dinner being served, with help from students at Lincoln High School. They were the winners of the association's Prostart High School Challenge.
The big talk of the night was the awards, and two in particular were the most coveted, Chef of the Year and Restaurant of the Year.
The association has named Jonathan's Restaurant in Ogunquit as Restaurant of the Year, and Joshua Berry of the Union Restaurant in the Press Hotel as Chef of the Year.
Cheryl Lee Rust of Le Garage in Wiscasset was also honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. She's honored not only for her restaurant, but also for her work in mental health.
