WINDHAM (WGME) – Dunkin’ Donuts is warning customers about a data breach.

Dunkin’ Donuts across the nation have rewards cards that you can earn points and load money onto, and the company says because of a couple third party data breaches, some rewards members might have had their information hacked.

Dunkin’ Donuts officials say their website was never breached, but say people who use the same username and password on some other third-party websites that were hacked might have had their Dunkin’ Donuts information stolen.

People around Maine say it is scary how much information can be found through these breaches.

"It's very unsafe I think,” Standish resident Bonnie said. “It's getting crazy out here, money hungry all the time, just always trying to steal something. So, you got to be safe, it's Christmas!"

Dunkin’ Donuts says following an investigation they immediately made all perks rewards members change their password. They recommend customers don’t use the same username and password for multiple websites.
