UNITY (WGME) -- Maine is known for its variety of summer camps, but there's one camp this summer that's getting kids ready for a zombie apocalypse.
Surviving a zombie apocalypse is a serious matter and skills like outdoor cooking, foraging, first aid, hunting, and teamwork will be necessary.
The survival camp is sponsored by Unity College and is for kids 11 through 17-years-old.
Organizers say they want the kids to enjoy the outdoors and learn some practical skills:
"We also help the campers explore what it means to work as a team. Whether they are evading something or creating something or building something, and making it through a series of obstacles. So as part of that exploration they will get to know themselves as leaders,” Jennifer Dehart, sustainability officer, Unity College
The “Zombie Survival Camp” runs from July 16 to July 20 and costs $600, which includes all meals and lodging.
