Hunter charged in shooting death of Hebron woman

Karen Wrentzel, the Hebron woman who died in a hunting-related shooting on her property, was a free spirit who loved the outdoors, her father said.

HEBRON (WGME) – A hunter accused of shooting and killing a Hebron woman has been charged with manslaughter.

The Maine Attorney General’s Office says- 38-year-old Robert Trundy thought he was shooting at a deer when he hit and killed 34-year-old Karen Wrentzel.

According to court paper work, Trundy heard Wrentzel scream just after she was shot, but did not render aid.

Investigators say he instead called his father and waited for him to arrive on scene.

Trundy is scheduled to be in court Wednesday.
