ALFRED (WGME) -- A former Kennebunk High School teacher pleaded not guilty to a 14-count indictment charging her with having a sexual relationship with a student.

Police say 29-year-old Jill Lamontagne is charged with six counts of sexual assault, two counts of unlawful sexual contact and six counts of sexual abuse of a minor. She is free on $1,000 bail.

According to court documents, Lamontagne, a health teacher at the time, was ordered to stay away from a male student after his mother filed a complaint, stating the two had an inappropriate relationship.

She was placed on administrative leave in June.

Lamontagne's lawyer calls the allegations, "a high school rumor which consisted of the fantasies of an emotionally troubled senior at Kennebunk High School."

Lamontagne’s lawyer has also asked a judge to order prosecutors to turn over a copy of a videotaped interview with the student.
