Father kills daughter then self in Hebron murder-suicide, police say
HEBRON (WGME) -- Maine State Police say the two people found dead inside their Hebron home Thursday were 27-year-old Claire Randall and her 56-year-old father, Daniel Randall.
State Police say it appears the father shot his daughter and then turned the gun on himself.
Randall had been released from an alcohol treatment facility earlier this week and the family had moved to Maine earlier in the year from Rhode Island.
A neighbor found the bodies at the home on Marshall Pond Road around 2 p.m. Thursday.
Claire's body was found inside a bathroom, while Randall’s body was found on a porch. A shotgun was near Randall’s body, according to police.
Randall was a former pastor in Bristol, Rhode Island, before moving to Maine with his family, according to Rhode Island State Police.
Detectives and evidence technicians worked late into the night Thursday and will continue their work at the house Friday.
Autopsies are scheduled for Friday morning at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta.
