Dielectric opens new facility in Lewiston
LEWISTON (WGME) -- A local business is growing and innovating.
Dielectric held a ribbon-cutting Wednesday for its new 33,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Lewiston.
The Raymond-based antenna-maker will employ 50 employees at the Lewiston facility, including new hires from the Lewiston area.
The new facility helps increase output of new antennas for Dielectric's expanding operations, fueled by the "spectrum repack," when nearly 1,000 UHF channels relocate to new channel assignments to make room for wireless carriers.
"Its a great feeling. We're able to produce quite a few technical jobs from engineering all the way through to mechanically inclined people, welders, machinists," Keith Pelletier, vice president and Dielectric general manager, said.
Dielectric is owned by Sinclair Broadcast Group which also owns CBS 13.
