Body recovered from Penobscot River in Bangor
BANGOR (WGME) -- Police are investigating after a body was discovered and recovered from the Penobscot River in Bangor Saturday.
The body was found near the Joshua Chamberlain Bridge after a boater reported finding a body in the river.
Crews responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. Saturday.
The body was safely recovered and will be taken to the medical examiner's officer in Augusta.
Identification of the body is expected early next week, police said.
No further information is being released at this time. Bangor Police's criminal investigation Division is handled the case.
