WESTBROOK (WGME) – September is Pediatric Cancer Month, and Tuesday a blood drive was held in honor of a little girl who lost her fight against the disease.

Four-year-old Madeline Marzen of Bath died in October, after a short but aggressive battle with a malignant brain tumor.

In the spring, dozens donated blood in memory of her.

Tuesday, event organizers say 22 units of blood were donated at their drive in Westbrook.

If you missed Tuesday, there is an additional blood drive planned.

It's September 28, at Midcoast Life Church in Bath, from noon to 6 p.m.
