Animal Refuge League needs to find homes for animals displaced by hurricanes
WESTBROOK (WGME) -- The Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland says they need your help.
The shelter in Westbrook is taking in pets displaced by three major hurricanes.
Around 30 pets that were rescued from the Virgin Islands before the storms hit are now in Maine, and Animal Refuge League officials say they need your help finding homes for the cats and dogs in their shelter.
They say these 40 animals will need to find foster homes for two weeks before they will be able to get adopted.
The shelter needs it to happen quickly, since they say more animals displaced from two other storms will be arriving over the next week.
The easiest way you can help is by adopting one of the pets that are already at the shelter, which gives them space to provide more homes for displaced animals.
