PORTLAND (WGME) -- For the first time in 24 years, Allagash Brewing Company has released their flagship "White" in a can.
Allagash held a release party at their Portland brewery on Sunday and four packs were flying off the shelves
Brewers at Allagash said it was a long process to get the same quality drinkers have come to expect from their bottles into a can, but they hope the new packaging will bring their beer to new heights.
"There was never even a question whether Allagash White would be in there. I mean of course. It's our flagship beer. It has been since we opened in 1995,” Allagash Brewmaster Jason Perkins said.
Allagash also released a new beer on Sunday called “River Trip.”
They hope to start distributing their new cans across the state in the coming weeks.
