Real Estate Report: Extreme movie makeover

FALMOUTH (WGME) -- Thinking about dinner and a movie?

Soon there will be a new option in greater Portland, but this promises to be unlike any other you've seen around here.

It's out with the old, to make way for the new.

Andrew Poore is part of Flagship Cinemas. The company is giving the old Falmouth movie theater an extreme makeover.

"I smile every day coming to work," Poore said.

That's because he's also a Falmouth resident, and can't wait for what's in store.

"My kids are excited, my wife is excited; actually my phone's been ringing off the hook," Poore said.

Each seat will be an electric recliner. You can also reserve specific seats online.

Regal closed the cinema back in 2012.

Falmouth leaders are happy to see this piece of real estate get new life.

Now the race is on to the big premiere.

Flagship is the same company that first owned the theater in 1995. They then sold it to the company that eventually became Regal.

Poore says they hope to open this summer.
