Skowhegan man accused of growing pot near school
SKOWHEGAN (WGME) -- Police say a Skowhegan man was growing marijuana near an elementary school while out on bail.
The Maine DEA says they searched the home of Dustin Beane, 32, and found 14 marijuana plants and drug paraphernalia.
Officials say the charge of growing marijuana was upgraded to a felony because Beane was so close to North Elementary School.
They say Beane could face up to five years in jail and additional charges are expected.
