Church gets lots of support after their rainbow flag is stolen
ROCHESTER, NH (WGME) -- A local church is inundated with gifts and prayers from around the world after a Facebook post about a flag theft goes viral.
Every day for two weeks, flags have been pouring into the First Church in Rochester from as far away as France.
Church leaders say the congregation's rainbow flag was stolen two weeks ago, replaced, and then stolen again two days later.
That's when the minister mentioned the incident on Facebook.
The post went viral, striking a chord with people all over the world.
Church Moderator Ken Ortmann says he is astonished at how this story has connected people and says this message of support is far more powerful than that of a stolen flag.
