Fight to legalize recreational marijuana in South Portland moves a step forward
SOUTH PORTLAND (WGME) -- The fight to legalize recreational marijuana in South Portland is moving one step forward.
This month, Citizens for a Safer Maine submitted more than 1,500 signatures, enough to qualify for a referendum vote.
The city council will decide on August 4th whether to enact the measure; if they don't it will head to voters in November.
The initiative is similar to the one Portland voters passed last year.
