Market Basket protesters have until Monday to go back to work
NEW ENGLAND (WGME) Come back to work by Monday, or we're going to hire somebody else, that's the message from Market Basket's board to employees who've been protesting for two weeks now.
The employees have until Monday, August 4th to come back to work with no penalty.
However, they're not working until they get their CEO, Arthur T. Demoulas, back.
Demoulas was fired last month when his cousin Arthur S. Demoulas gained control of the company.
For the past two weeks employees have rallied to get their boss back.
Several employees have already been fired and now the board says if the other protesting employees don't return to work, they'll start looking for new workers at job fairs next week.
The attorneys general just sent a letter to the Market Basket board warning them that they will protect Market Basket employees rights.
Arthur T. Demoulas has put a bid in to buy the company and the board says they're considering it.
