Gorham mom shaves head to raise money for children's cancer research
GORHAM (WGME) -- A Gorham mother is making a difference for children with cancer, by shaving her head.
Megan Dermody's son Finnian was diagnosed with a brain tumor three years ago, at five years old. The surgery to remove the tumor left Finn unable to walk or talk.
This weekend, Megan will join 45 other moms in Shaving Their Heads to raise money for children's cancer research.
The 46 moms represent the 46 children diagnosed with cancer in the United States every day.
Since the event started five years ago, the St. Baldrick's Foundation has raised more than a million dollars.
