K-9 officers receive bulletproof vests
AUGUSTA (WGME) -- Maine state police are giving two K-9 officers a little added protection.
Law enforcement dogs Lola and Zorro have been outfitted with bullet and stab proof vests.
The body armor is thanks to a non-profit called: Vested Interest in K-9's.
The Sterrs family of Maine donated 19-hundred dollars for the vests.
Since 2009, the Massachusetts non-profit has provided more than 580 law enforcement dogs with protective vests.
