Uncle Andy’s Diner gets a makeover
SOUTH PORTLAND (WGME) -- Crews from the Food Network took over Uncle Andy's Diner on Tuesday.
The diner is an institution in the South Portland community and has been around for decades, but it's starting to show its age.
The team from Restaurant: Impossible is in town to give the diner a major renovation.
The host of the show, Chef Robert Irvine told the crowd that gathered outside to expect big things.
Irvine says, Thirty-five years It won't be like that tomorrow in 36 hours that I can guarantee you.
The makeover continues until Wednesday when it will reopen with a new menu and new look.
Producers say the episode is set to air sometime in August.
