Fmr state rep., property owner ordered to fix sewage problem
SOUTH PORTLAND (WGME) -- A South Portland neighborhood is dealing with an unpleasant problem.
Sewage has been leaking into the street from some of the homes. Now city officials have given the property owner a deadline to fix it or get out.
Officials say a home on Mildred Street is the issue. The owner of the house is a former state representative, Chris Muse, who says he is trying to fix it.
Muse has until Friday before the city will come in and condemn the building.
Neighbors tell CBS 13 News, this is just the latest problem at the home and the city of South Portland has given Muse too many chances.
Code enforcement and police have been to the home several times in the past, but Muse insists he's a good neighbor.
Neighbors say they've had enough and they're planning to take action. CBS 13 News will have that part of the story Wednesday night on FOX23 News at Ten and CBS 13 News at Eleven.
