RSU 57 could lose 25 positions, including 8 teachers
WATERBORO (WGME) -- A Maine school district could lose as many as 25 positions, eight of them teachers.
RSU 57, which includes Waterboro, Lyman, Alfred and three other towns, is struggling with shrinking enrollment and higher health insurance costs.
The proposed school budget calls for the elimination of eight teaching positions, along with as many as 12 educational technician jobs.
There's a school board meeting tonight to go over the budget proposal.
Voters get their say in June.
