Maine woman looks for help battling leukemia

GEORGETOWN -- A Maine woman is looking for your help as she faces another uphill battle in her fight against leukemia.

Sarah Thompson and her family have been through a lot.  Three years ago, she was diagnosed with leukemia. After a series of extensive chemotherapy treatments, she was in remission, until this past January.

Now, she has only one option, a bone marrow transplant.

The good news is, she has a donor.

Sarah says the support of her husband, family and friends is helping a lot. Her transplant is scheduled for next month in Boston.

In the meantime, friends are trying to help raise at least $25,000 to cover the huge medical expenses while her husband takes care of her.

All Sarah knows about her donor is that he is a 37-year-old man and that he is likely going to save her life.

He's a stranger making a difference for a mother in Maine.
