Family of hit and run victim makes plea for driver to come forward
TURNER (WGME) -- The mother of a teenage hit and run victim is making a public plea, asking the driver responsible to come forward. Javier Fuentes, 16, was killed while walking along Route 117 in Paris on Saturday night. Police say they've identified two persons of interest
Detectives are tight lipped about what- if any progress has been made with those persons of interest.
The development has Fuentes' family cautiously optimistic. They don't want to get their hopes up, but do want to know who left him lying on the side of the road, and why?
We get that it was an accident, get that perhaps my son had dark clothing on and perhaps you didn't see him, but I dont get or understand why you couldn't stop and call, said Sheila Cole, Fuentes mother.
The family is just starting to plan funeral services since an autopsy was finished Tuesday. They are offering a $1,500 reward for information that leads to person responsible.
