Kennebunk prostitution scandal comes to quiet close
KENNEBUNK (WGME) -- The prostitution scandal in Kennebunk that made national headlines quietly came to a close. The final client's case is now settled. The man was fined $500 last week after he pleaded guilty. He joined dozens of others including a former mayor, minister, and firefighter to be convicted of engaging with a prostitute.
The scandal made headlines in 2012 with reports of up to 150 clients, and many were videotaped without their knowledge while paying for sex with fitness instructor Alexis Wright.
A judge ruled Wright didn't have to testify against her alleged clients, which hindered the prosecution.
