Minimum temperature for rental units raised in Lewiston

LEWISTON (WGME) -- The Lewiston City Council voted Tuesday night to raise the minimum temperature required in rental units by 2 degrees. Landlords will have to make sure their units stay at a minimum of 68 degrees year round.

City leaders say they're actually trying to get their rules in line with state law.

The change will take effect May 1. It is only for residential rental units and doesnt include businesses.
