Maine Supreme Court says no to koi for Harpswell woman
HARPSWELL (WGME) -- Maine's highest court is rejecting a woman's bid to keep her exotic fish. It's an update to a story we first told you about over the summer.
Georgette Curren of Harpswell has koi fish on her property. The state considers the fish an invasive species and told her to get rid of them.
The case went all the way to the Maine Supreme Judicial Court and the court has now sided with the state.
Curren says she will seek a new permit and continue fighting to keep the fish.
