Western Maine businesses enjoying winter weather
NEWRY (WGME) -- The towns with the most snow after the most recent storm are in western Maine. At the Sunday River Resort, they're reporting 20 fresh inches at the top of the mountain. Skiers say the heavier, wetter snow we saw this time, is perfect.
Its pretty sick like nice and powdery, just floating like swish, said skier Zac Calden.
Andover is one of this storm's jackpot towns just 20 miles to the north of Sunday River. The town received 13 inches of snow.
The snow actually brought business to the Andover General store. A trip to Rangeley on fresh trails is what brought snowmobiler John McAllister and friends in for lunch.
Its nice to ride in for a chance, better than ice and bare ground, said McAllister.
With more snow expected Saturday, and the Presidents Day holiday on Monday, there are a lot of very happy people in Western Maine.
