Lake resolution reached after long debate

WHITEFIELD (WGME) -- A resolution was reached Tuesday in a years-long fight over a dam in the town of Whitefield.

The State Department of Environmental Protection has issued a plan to fix Clary Lake.

This comes two years after property owners in Jefferson and Whitefield complained the lake was too low because of a dam.

The plan from the state orders the owner of the dam to fix it up by October and force the water to be kept at a certain level.

Homeowners say the water is too shallow to go boating.
