South Portland native to coach against Celtics Wednesday

BOSTON (WGME) -- A South Portland native is back in New England Wednesday, ready to take on the team he grew up cheering for.

Brett Brown is in his first year as Head Coach of the Philadelphia 76ers. Wednesdays game against the Celtics is his first game in Boston. Brown was a star at South Portland, playing for his dad, legendary Maine coach Bob Brown.

After years as an assistant in San Antonio, Brown is now a head coach in the NBA.

I've come to this, not this building, but to see the Celtics for so many years. I spent my days at Boston University and just have fantastic memories a long time ago of this city, to be able to come back as a coach in the NBA is a true privilege and an honor," said Brown.
