VIDEO: Woman buys giant 23 pound lobster to release it
NEW BRUNSWICK (CNN Newsource) -- A massive lobster taller than a toddler was caught in the Bay of Fundy off the coast of New Brunswick and then bought by a vegan activist so it could be returned to its home, according to The Canadian Press.
The Canadian Press reports Catherine MacDonald, co-owner of the Alma Lobster Shop in New Brunswick, said the 23-pound lobster, dubbed "King Louie," was possibly a century old.
MacDonald told The Canadian Press the lobster was sold for $230 to a vegan who requested it be released back into the ocean.
King Louie was returned home Tuesday.
