After being postponed for two days because of dangerous weather conditions, wardens began their search. The three men, John Spencer, Glenn Henderson and Kenny Henderson, have been missing since Sunday. On Monday, searchers found their helmets in the lake.
Searchers had hoped to get out on the water Thursday morning but the wind has picked up. Wardens are taking an air boat out to check the conditions every hour and when the conditions were right, they sent out a boat with sonar.
Wednesday night, friends, family and well-wishers gathered at Oxford Plains Speedway to light candles and remember the three friends. Despite negative temperatures, the group gathered where the three men had spent countless summer nights.
John Spencer's 12 year old daughter was one of the many who were in the crowd, fighting back tears and remembering her father. Glenn Henderson's sister-in-law says she hopes people learn from this tragedy, telling News 13 snowmobilers should realize they shouldn't be out at night in treacherous conditions. She's hoping this tragedy will help prevent others like it in the future.
