The Lebanon Rescue Department, Maine State Police and Lebanon Fire Department were all dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with injuries around 6:15 p.m. on Carl Broggi Highway. While crews were responding, they were updated that one had fled the scene.
Lebanon Rescue Two was the first on scene and located a new model Jeep SUV with heavy damage to the front end and driver side vehicle.
"It was reported that the Jeep was traveling eastbound on Carl Broggi Highway near Stokewood Drive when she noticed there was a vehicle coming head on towards her. She tried to escape the accident but the other vehicle hit her pretty much head on to the driver’s side. The other vehicle then left the scene. The ambulance crews called for a second Lebanon ambulance to assist as they had 4 patients in the vehicle at the scene." Assistant Chief Jason Cole added.
Police say the driver of the Jeep SUV was a 31-year-old female from Farmington, NH. She was transported by Lebanon Rescue Two to Frisbie Hospital in Rochester, NH with non-life threatening injuries. She was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the accident.
She had her three young children in the vehicle, all in child protective seats and seatbelts. They were treated at the scene by Lebanon Rescue personnel. The father came to the scene and took the three children.
The Maine State Police are investigating the accident.
