Maine man dies in Mass. trying to retrieve his dead dog from roadway
LOWELL, Mass. (WGME) - A Maine man was killed on a highway in Massachusetts while trying to retrieve his deceased dog from the roadway.
Police say Lawrence Perham, 39, of Bradford, Maine, was on I-495 in Lowell, Massachusetts early Saturday when a pick-up hit him.
The operator of the pick-up, a 61-year-old man from Clemsford, Massachusetts, was transported to Lowell General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
State police say Perham’s vehicle was in the breakdown lane while he tried to retrieve his dead dog from the road.
Police haven't said how his dog died.
No charges have been filed.
Massachusetts State Police are investigating.
