Woman accused of driving while high, crashing with young child in car
DAMARISCOTTA (WGME) -- A woman is accused of driving while high and crashing with a young child in the car.
It happened in Damariscotta on Tuesday.
According to the Lincoln County News, 24-year-old Brittany Burns was driving on Back Meadow Road around 6:30 a.m. when her vehicle left the road and hit a tree.
Police say Burns had on a seat belt and a child under two in her car was properly restrained. Both suffered minor injuries.
Police say Burns was high on marijuana.
Burns faces one count each of endangering the welfare of a child, operating under the influence, and possession of a schedule Z drug (clonazepam), Damariscotta Police Chief Warlick told the Lincoln County News.
