SANFORD, Maine (WGME) - Viewer video shows a large fire in an old mill building in Sanford.

The Stenton Trust mill, a textile mill from the 1920s, went up in flames.

Onlookers flocked to the scene to watch the mill burn, which created some concerns over crowd control.

Sanford Fire said there were over 100 firefighters on scene, with over 20 mutual aid responding. The assistant fire chief said the crews anticipated putting water on the mill throughout the night.

Fire teams drew water from a nearby pond. Volunteers and Good Samaritans brought water to the firefighters as they continued to douse the fire.

Sanford police, the ATF, and the Maine Fire Marshall's Office are investigating the cause of the fire.
