Three dead in two Waldo County crashes

Three people died in two fatal accidents Saturday morning in the Waldo County towns of Frankfort and Prospect, according to the sheriff's office.

WALDO COUNTY (WGME) -- Three people are dead and two other injured in two early morning fatal accidents in the towns of Frankfort and Prospect in Waldo County.

Just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, a car rolled over on Loggin Road in Frankfort. Deputies said Michael Butler, 29, of Winterport was dead upon arrival. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Shortly after 5 a.m. Saturday, deputies were called to Route 1 in Prospect near the Penobscot Narrows Bridge, where car had failed to negotiate a corner after driving over the bridge.

Four people were in the car, and deputies said Daniel Huntington, 39, of New Jersey and Sarah Brown, 37, of Monroe died at the scene.

Alexander Brown, 22, of Prospect and Roger Brown, 45, of Prospect where taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The cause of this crash also remains under investigation.
