'Sound effect ladies' bring shows to life in Freeport
FREEPORT (WGME) – There are events all over Freeport this weekend to keep you entertained, including a special performance from the "Freeport Players."
The Freeport Players bring the community together, and take them back in time.
Known as “Radio,” the show is set in the 60s, with a cast ranging in age from 12 to 80, but people flock to the theatre to see and hear two women.
The sound effect ladies, Sam Hunneman and Maryellen Carew, have made the show come alive for the last 13 years.
They use everyday objects, to create dramatic sounds, that help narrate the show.
They've been getting laughs for 13 years, and having their own.
